The European Weed Research Society has selected Turkey to host its 7th EWRS Mediterranean Symposium. The Symposium which will be jointly organised by Turkish and Greek weed scientists will be held in Adana from 6 to 9 May 2003.

The main objectives of the Symposium are:
· To promote weed research in Mediterranean and European Countries,
· To develop communication between researchers from all over the world in weed science,
· To encourage the advancement of weed science and technology.

The Symposium will provide a forum to discuss a broad spectrum of topics that are crucial for basic and applied research in weed science of the Mediterranean and other regions with mediterranean climate. The latest developments with respect to weed biology, integrated weed and crop management will be presented.
